Another shooting... Where is the coverage?

Unfortunately, this weekend the lives of innocent people were shattered and changed forever by the actions of another gun wielding mad man. Now, I could easily go into my often discussed barrage on gun control but that is not what this post is about. It is about something that goes beyond guns, something that is inside us. It is about something we do not talk about and something we many people say is not there anymore. It is about racism.
You see, a few weeks ago someone shot up a movie theater and the world rightfully came to a halt. News stations from around the country sent out their best reporters and set up shop quicker than a Kardashian will sell their soul for another fifteen minutes. The coverage was non stop.
This time it was a Sihk temple that was shot up and seven people who should have been protected in their chosen house of worship lost their lives. Where is the media? Why is this horrific shooting not getting the same treatment as the Colorado movie theater shooting?
Let us be honest, if this was a house of Christian denomination that got shot up by a member of the Nation of  Islam, I am pretty sure there would be a hell of a lot more cameras there. Every politician in the country would be soap boxing and holding vigils, crying with the victims and holding in every tear until he made sure that the camera's were rolling.
We talk a great game, but that is just it... talk. We like to say that we accept everyone for who they are and what they may believe in but deep down that is not true.  When something is foreign to us, we feel removed, as if it does not effect us. Were these victims not human? Did they not bleed the same? They may not have had the same beliefs as you, they may not kneel before the same god, but their death is just as painful as the losses in Colorado. As of this morning, they were still covering the Batman shooting. I bet you my rosary that  we'll still be talking about the "Twilight" breakup long after the Sihk shooting.
Is it hot in here or am I Crazy?
